I have been following the Primal/Paleo way of living since 2012. What began with an elimination diet to solve my son’s digestive problems quickly evolved to a Primal/Paleo lifestyle once I discovered Mark’s Daily Apple, The Primal Blueprint and Mark Sisson (all the same person btw!).
What is the Primal or Paleo lifestyle? It’s a model based on REAL food, regular/sensible exercise and sufficient sleep. It’s getting back to your roots, digging into what makes sense from an ancestral point of view.
I soon came to realize how so many of today’s “afflictions” could be prevented, improved upon or reversed with diet and lifestyle changes. Most of these afflictions, have become prevalent just in recent years. Illnesses that doctors rarely saw, are now commonplace (i.e., type 2 diabetes in children, the explosion of autoimmune diseases and allergies just to name a few).
It bothered me to think of how many people suffer, thinking they have drawn the short straw with their health, or that their health problems are genetic or that they are just getting old and that these changes are inevitable and you just have to accept what comes your way. In some cases, that may be true, but often it’s not, it’s often within your control to improve your health and change your life. When Mark Sisson launched the Primal Health Coach Institute certification program I had to sign up. I had seen what a difference the changes had made with my family and friends and I just had to share the information!
